About Guild:
Cohors traces its roots back to Everquest. In World of Warcraft some of the guild raided together Horde-side on Garona during the original 40-man raiding game and then re-rolled Alliance on Vek'nilash for The Burning Crusade. During TBC Cohors killed every raiding boss in the game from Attumen through Kil'jaeden. In WoTLK so far we've :
- Cleared all of the T7 content and completed Heroic: Glory of the Raider
- Cleared Ulduar and have completed Heroic: Glory of the Ulduar Raider and have completed Alglaon.
- Cleared ToC and ToGC (Tribute to Insanity)
- Cleared 11/12 ICC (We've killed the Lich King on 10-man)
See http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/us/vek-nilash/Cohors+Praetoria for our current progression.
We pride ourselves on having a small roster, where as many people as possible are able to participate regularly. Most of our members are high attendance, and if you're interested in joining, you should be too.
We run a 12 hour a week raiding schedule. Note that when we can farm the current content in less time we of course will do so - 12 hours a week is the maximum we'll raid during progression. If you can't make 3 out of 4 of those times on a regular basis, as well as 1-2 other nights during the week to actually be a part of the guild outside of 25-man raids then you probably shouldn't bother applying.

Guild Rules:
Cohors is first and foremost a raiding guild, and we take our raiding time seriously. That being said we don't raid nearly as much as most other "high-end" raiding guilds and we aren't in it for server firsts or anything like that. We raid to progress and we plan on clearing every raid zone in WoTLK, but if you're the kind of person who measures success against other guilds progression then you probably won't fit in here.
Unlike some guilds, we don't feel that a "thick skin" is really a requirement for our guild. We treat each other with respect and, while we're an adult guild, our guild chat isn't generally R-rated. We are a guild of mature, adult players - older on average than many raiding guilds. If you make a mistake raiding, you're expected to own up to it. If you have a suggestion about a change in strategy, you can expect to be listened to assuming you present it in a reasonable manner.

Loot Rules:
Our loot policy places a lot of responsibility on individual members. We /random for loot, with the high roll winning; each raider can win one item for their raiding spec per raid. Before rolling, we expect our raiders to carefully consider the last time they won an item, whether it'd be a sizeable upgrade for someone else, whether anyone else has been holding out for this specific item, and so on. In general, people who are focused on gearing up the raid before themselves, and see loot as a means to an end tend to fit in well with our system.
Current Progression & Achievements:
We've got 11/12 ICC heroic. In past tiers we've gotten Immortal, Glory of the Ulduar Raider, and Insanity. In Burning Crusade, we cleared the entire expansion. In short, we have a history of clearing content on a light raiding schedule.

Applicant Requirements:
We do NOT have hard and fast class requirements - we'll consider any and all applications. We value player skill and personality more than a specific class or spec. Gearscore is not a factor in our decisions at all.
What we *do* look for is evidence that you will take raiding seriously (both by being generally invested in making your character as prepared as possible to help kill bosses, *and* by performing well on raids), and that you'll fit in well with our guild.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you.
